ROZES is one of the most familiar voices in Dance Music. You may recognize her soothing vocals from huge tracks from some of the genre’s most popular names like The Chainsmokers, Cash Cash, Big Gigantic and many more.

Not only is she an incredible talent in the booth, but ROZES has also written for some of the biggest stars in Pop music. Ranging from One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson to Cheat Codes, she’s been said to have

Her new tune, “Call Me“, is a call to action for mental health awareness year round. The 24-year old Philadelphia songstress originally started working on the track at Alica Keys’ all-female writing camp, She Is The Music.

We had the pleasure of chatting with ROZES about her time at She Is The Music as well as a little bit more about her influences and interests. Check it out below!

What do you want your fans to know about Call Me?

I want my fans to know that I understand how hard it is to reach out when you’re in the thick of it with your mental health. I get that one call cannot cure your mental health, but I do know that it helps to know you are not alone, and that there are people who care for you and are there for you.

We keep seeing artists speaking up about mental health struggles and awareness. We really appreciate you using your platform in such an amazing way. This is so important personally and to so many of our readers, why do you think it is taking longer for us to shine a light and get rid of the stigma surrounding mental health issues?

I’m not sure why mental health has such a stigma. I think people fear what they don’t understand, even if it’s themselves struggling. We feel shamed for not being “happy” and judged for not just being able to “cheer up.” For the stigma to end, we need to stop judging others, and most importantly, we need to stop judging ourselves.

While it’s super important that we speak up about mental health, it is equally important to talk about ways to manage our mental health: therapy, medications, etc., The nitty gritty that people aren’t as open about. To fully end the stigma, we need to open all the curtains and normalize everything that has to do with mental health.

Who are a few of your biggest inspirations?

I’ve always been inspired by SIA, Adele, Alicia Keys, No Doubt, and Grace Potter. I love that they write about what’s real, on top of having amazing, powerful voices.

Who are you listening to right now?

I listen to Leon Bridges a lot, Maggie Rogers, Mø, Hozier, and Missio

How was Alicia Keys’ writing camp “She is the Music” (pictured below)? What was that like?

It was so amazing to have been a part of something that one of my biggest idols set up. It was so inspiring to be among so many talented females. I felt empowered and understood, and I’m so lucky to have been a part of it.

What can you tell us about working with Alicia?

Alicia is everything you imagine her to be. She is empowering and real, and inspiring and calm. When you meet her, you can just feel her knowledge and intelligence. She is a woman who has so much wisdom, but is so humble.

You have some of EDM’s biggest hits with your voice/name on them, of all the big DJs you have worked with, who was the most fun in the studio?

It’s hard to say! Each is different in their own way. I loved working with Cash Cash- those guys are so nice and funny.

What’s next for ROZES?

I’ve got lots of music and collaborations, music videos and hopefully I”ll be doing some touring!

Well, thanks so much for chatting with us. We really appreciate you 🙂 Be sure to support ROZES on Spotify and her socials!
