Louis The Child Deliver Another Impressive Remix On Tame Impala’s “It Might Be Time”

In a promise to fans around the world experiencing social isolation, electronic super-duo Louis The Child expressed intent to upload weekly remixes hiding in the back of their catalog beginning with last week’s remix of “Womp Womp” by Valee.

This week, they delivered again with a fresh bootleg of Tame Impala‘s “It Might Be Time” from their full-length February release The Slow Rush. The remix, along with others past and future, can be found on Louis The Child’s own YouTube channel.

The remix waivers from initial impressions while still maintaining form of the original with the retro Roland synth chords distorted but definitely identifiable. The verses are consistent in their association with the Tame Impala track with a thumping quarter-note kick building with continually layered percussion.

With expressed intent to make the psychedelic piece into a party anthem, the duo runs with the exposition of the original tune’s hook by adding a heaping scoop of booming bass and siren-synths. The gritty, echoing percussion of the album mix’s post-chorus is nevertheless afforded its spotlight, and all of the pieces come together very organically for a deceptively chill headbanger.

“This song came out while we were on tour earlier this year and we became obsessed with it. We wanted to play it at our after parties so we sped it up, threw some drums and a big bass on it and called it a day. We hope you all enjoy!” – Louis The Child
