Watching a collection of smaller bass producers combine their tastes of music is such an awesome sight to see, and today is a perfect example of that. Experimental bass duo Shanghai Doom and DMV-based trap mind Runnit collide today to bring you a heavy new banger of a single. “Outsiders” is an absolute slapper, and this track is guaranteed to make your jaw drop! The boys perfectly blend their styles of music to deliver this hard-hitting anthem. It’s one of those collaborations that were meant for each other, like peanut butter and jelly (but better)!
The Shanghai Doom boys are a HIHF favorite. The duo continues to impress their fanbase by bringing us consistent mind-melting wubs time and time again. They show no signs of stopping after releasing their incredible early March EP “COLLISION“, featuring collabs with Protohype, Smoakland, XTALS and Toadface. Prior to that, they appeared on Wakaan for their collaborative EP alongside Esseks. The sound design Shanghai Doom bring to the table is incredible, and they have a bright future ahead of them.
Runnit has carved out a path of his own. His take on trap and bass music is unique. He has brought us many incredible releases in his relatively short career, including a collaboration with TVBOO on his “Cult Classics Vol. 2” collaborative EP on Wakaan, multiple tracks on Excision’s Subsidia label, and more recently, a trap-filled haven of an EP titled “Code of Conduct”. We just premiered one of the tracks off of his EP, a slapper called “SLUGS”, which you can check out here! Runnit has a great road to success ahead of him, and 2021 is the year he skyrockets into the scene!
The results of this collab are near-perfect! It’s an infectious trap heater that’s sure to give you a permanent case of bass-face.
