Engix is one of the hottest up-and-coming producers who’s shown he’s a force to reckon with. Those who are looking for a hybrid of dubstep and bass will definitely enjoy what he brings to the table. He has made big waves throughout his career, playing shows all over the country and releasing collaborations with Vibe Emissions, BroMosapien, and Sharrol Kelby. He also is a part of the Michigan-based Mean Mug Music roster, in which he’s playing their inaugural festival Sol Fest in May alongside Minnesota, Ravenscoon, AHEE, and tons more!
Today, Engix shares with us his new EP, “Downforce”. This is a compilation of four huge tracks that blasts you into another dimension. It displays some of the freshest sound design in bass music at the moment. You can tell how much hard work was put into this, as every tune on the EP is a slapper! Fans will come to love this body of work right off the bat, while newcomers will be blown away as they are introduced to the filthy Engix sound.
We had the opportunity to link with Engix for an exclusive premiere of his track, “Final Order”, a collab with HIHF-favorite illanthropy. The two esteemed producers unleash an intro as dark as night. Once the tension is built, they go the extra mile with scorching yet deep sounds. Gritty basslines shackle your bones at every corner, leaving your jaw dropped and glued to the floor. The second drop is even heavier and pushes every boundary of insanity possible. The blend of sounds is perfect, showcasing how promising each of these talented producers’ futures is. Here’s what Engix had to say about working with illanthropy on “Final Order”:
“Making the song ‘Final Order’ with illanthropy was one of the funnest collabs I’ve ever worked on. For years, I’ve been watching illanthropy rise in this underground bass music scene, coming through with massive basslines & some of the craziest sound design I’ve ever heard. I personally worked on sound design before knowing how to even put a song together, so I knew working with him would be so much fun. I’m very happy with how the song turned out & I’m excited to work with him again in the future!” – Engix
The energy felt throughout the track, as well as the EP as a whole, is insane. Engix and illanthropy shared something special on this collab and we can’t wait to see their projects take new heights. Be sure to check it out below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments or on our socials! Huge thanks to Engix and his team for the opportunity and be sure to listen to the full new EP here.
