If you’re heavily involved in the underground, you have more than likely heard the name Barooka by now. If you haven’t, it’s time to get familiar. The Denver-based duo has been crushing it over the last year, garnishing support from artists like Ternion Sound, and many more, as well as playing sets at Beyond Existence festival in Texas, and igniting dance floors all across Colorado.
Their upcoming EP, Tundra, forthcoming via DirtySnatcha Records, features the heater of the tune “Pressure.” The Barooka boys continue to level up with every release of theirs, and this new track is a testament to just that. Throughout the journey of a banger, you’ll hear the individuality of both contributors, their signature sounds as a duo, and the new frequencies they’ve been cooking up in the studio. ‘”Pressure” is our personal favorite off of the Tundra EP. It flowed out of us in two sessions and came together pretty quickly. It’s always the songs you don’t need to force that come out the best in our opinion.’ – Barooka
“Pressure” takes its listeners on a sonic adventure, starting off with a voice whispering “pressure….pressure…pressure,” luring you in and awaiting what’s next. The first drop comes in, and you can hear that staple Barooka sounds (if you know, you know). As things progress, the next half of the track comes in with a nice little switch-up. There are new, sweet little elements tossed in, turning up the firepower and bringing even more heat.
The growth and energy they’ve been putting in the studio is quite clear, and with 2024 in full swing and with their new EP ready to go, these boys are going to continue to bring it. Don’t sleep on Barooka, they’ve got a bright future ahead of them and things are only just beginning.
