Zeds Dead Unveil Their Instant Classic Of An Album “Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness”

Zeds Dead goes uncontested as one of the most legendary duos in dubstep. Over the past fifteen years, the group has amassed a loyal fan-base; swarms of eager festival-goers ready to pack the pavement for each coveted set across North America. Following the initial releases of two separate singles, the dubstep dons have gifted us their long-awaited album, “Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness”. The Canadian powerhouse duo has a spring tour ahead of them jam-packed with shows, including the duo’s eleventh return to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater. It will certainly be another incredible celebration of the album and the Zeds Dead family.

With nearly two decades of hit-making and touring under their belt, the pair has sold out venues and played iconic festivals all across the world such as Tomorrowland, Electric Forest, and Lost Lands. They have also worked with other massive artists over the years such as GRiZ, Subtronics, EPROM, and Ganja White Night. Having cultivated an outstanding following and the esteemed Deadbeats record label as the home to many other praised artists and rising stars alike, Zeds Dead have forged their names in the musical history books.

This new album is a testament to Zeds Dead’s love for experimentation. Although the duo is acclaimed for their capacity for creating prolific bass music, they are also well known for exploring a wide range of genres in both their production and live sets. To begin the journey, we are brought to a world apart from ours with the opening track “Light“. This is the perfect warm-up to the album, featuring orchestral builds and two artistically different drops, both of which are an absolute treat. The second drop encapsulates a moment before time, full of blinding beauty and rage. A whirring synth and ruthless DnB drum beat send the track spiraling into melodic mayhem.

Hold My Hand” is a heavy-hitting, heartfelt piece that utilizes hypnotic vocals and a ferocious, resonating soundscape to fill your mind. This is the perfect follow up to the album opener, and gives us an eclectic taste of Zed’s Dead’s newest stylings they are eager to share with their community. Seamlessly, we are led into “Fall Away”, another gut-wrenching ballad. This track perfectly balances the finesse of the rhythm and the raw, unhinged power of Zeds Dead’s iconic stylings.

The next track, “Angel”, takes us deeper on our journey into the album’s titular intergalactic happiness. This snappy dance tune features Zeds Dead’s deep vault of instrumentals and a vocal sample that plays around the melody of the 90s staple tune “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. “Angel” is the perfect dance track for your playlist, pairing beloved OG electro stylings with the newest creative aspirations from the group, bringing back that industrious electronic sound.

One Of These Mornings” has had the bass world in a chokehold since Zeds Dead starting rinsing it out live and we were even happier we got it as a single just a few months back before the album officially dropped. The infamous vocal sample from Ella Fitzgerald‘s “Summertime” glides above a symphony of tasteful instrumentals. Two mind-splitting drops, full of color and sound, paint pictures in the stars for all to see. This track envelopes the explorative essence of this project and Zeds Dead’s legacy as one-of-a-kind artists.

As we continue to celebrate the release of this monumental album, we commend the group once again for delivering yet another spectacular project to our community. With a legendary pop-up set at Katz’s Deli in NYC on the horizon, let us know which track from this album was your favorite and where you’ll be catching Zeds Dead live down in the comments below!
