Hamdi has officially released his first EP of 2025, titled Abomination EP. The cross-genre production phenom, hailing from the UK, is currently one of the hottest names in dance music, and he’s not stopping anytime soon. His galvanizing live performances are not to be missed whenever you have the chance. Hamdi’s shows are full of upbeat energy, dirty basslines, and rhythmic UK rap. Hamdi recently planted his roots in Chicago and celebrated it with a month-long residency at Cermak Hall, with a set that left this HIHF writer in awe, with my jaw on the floor.
Hamdi is known for his masterful melding of the Dubstep, UK Garage, and Grime genres. In 2021, he produced “Skanka,” one of the most viral dubstep tracks we’ve seen in years. Hamdi’s vivacious style has garnered recognition from all corners of electronic music, collaborating with living legends Skrillex, Zeds Dead,Sammy Virji, and loads more. He has also released tracks on reputable labels like Insomniac’s Bassrush, Noisia’s Vision Recordings, Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats and Conducta’s Kiwi Rekords.
Today, Hamdi is adding a couple more bangers to his discography with the Abomination EP. The project starts with “Lamp,” a collaboration with the iconic French dubstep group Visages. This track is a bass barrage, which quickly makes listeners scrunch their faces in appreciation of the deep, dark sounds they are experiencing. Hamdi’s signature heavy bass combined with Visage’s more upbeat, experimental tempos create a commanding statement to start off theAbomination EP.
Next up is the title track, “Abomination,” the first single released from the Abomination EP. Right from the jump, listeners are thrown into a realm of swirling bass with a soundscape that ranges from higher ethereal notes to deep froggy, low-end sounds. This track is crafted with constant lively energy, making it a banger that will echo throughout the club and festival scene alike.
Hamdi continues to show his expertise at creating bass anthems with “Orchid,” a collaboration with LYNY. The track is a trapped-out tune that makes listeners feel like they are in a dark basement or warehouse venue, dancing the night away with nothing else but the bass on their mind. Hamdi and LYNY create a true monster here, demanding headbouncing and hip swaying from anyone who listens.
At this point in the Abomination EP, Hamdi begins to show us his intergenre versatility. The fourth track, entitled “Ride Up To The Door”, is a fast-paced, bouncy adventure. The ever-present bumping drums and lyrical loop of the title blend into an industrial shuffler’s anthem. This track shows that Hamdi can create bops in every genre, serving us up a dancey masterpiece.
The Abomination EP culminates with “Move On,” a beautifully emotional track that continues to show Hamdi’s range. With the simple piece of lyrical advice, Hamdi urges his fans to leave their past behind and cherish the moment with this melodic tune. This feel-good song is the perfect summer vibe, encouraging everyone to live in the moment and just simply enjoy the ride.
Hamdi’s Abomination EP is a masterclass in electronic music production prowess. Ranging from diabolical bass-fuelled tracks to deep spiritual bangers, it’s clear that Hamdi has a huge road ahead. This new EP is a sonic testament to his meteoric ascension, and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store.
Hamdi’s upcoming US tour, dubbed “Hamdi Football Club,” was recently announced and is a must-see for all fans of electronic music. Staying close to his roots with the tour name highlighting his love for football/soccer, Hamdi is bringing his signature UK sounds stateside in a big way.
