BIN’s Audio Surveillance 002 Compilation Is Amplifying The Global Dubstep Scene

The Beat Intelligence Network (BIN) has curated a carefully selected collection of criminally heavy dubstep releases, featuring versatile producers from around the world. The series is dubbed Audio Surveillance 002, and is BIN’s second compilation of fresh releases from a tasteful lineup of underground heavy dubstep artists. The fourteen-track compilation features an intentionally selected mix of international dubstep producers in countries such as Brazil, the UK, France, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Belgium, Hungary, and all across the US. Every song came through with insane sound design and defining production elements, but a few that I particularly enjoyed most were “HACKBLADE,” “JOUNCE (FLOWISEIDON’S LAYER),”Lurker,” and “heartsick.”

Sanzu and PROXXY united to create a filthy riddim track, known as “HACKBLADE.” They found a middle ground between groove and aggressive bass, giving off powerful, buoyant energy that leaves listeners hooked. The collaborative heater kicks off with a build-up of sheer riotous anticipation, and then strikes us with crisp, punchy basslines. Being that both Sanzu and PROXXY have released their own episodes on Riot Control Radio, a mix series hosted by our friends at Dubstep FBI, it is no shock that the two producers have come together to unleash a lively riddim track with the label. With intricate backdrops and controlled yet dynamic rhythm, the single, “HACKBLADE,” is refreshingly captivating and will leave headbangers on the edge of their seat.

WARLORD’s “JOUNCE (FLOWISEIDON’S LAYER)” is a track that will have you wondering what just happened while you press replay, as it leads you through an adventure of impressively one-of-a-kind sounds. As a Philadelphia native, he is recognized for his high-energy sets, especially in the quickly growing East Coast underground bass scene. On this single, WARLORD has shown off his skills as a heavy dubstep producer. “JOUNCE (FLOWISEIDON’S LAYER)” welcomes you with distinctive, experimental sounds that lead into bouncy layers of riddim. There are parts within it that are completely unexpected, which entice and surprise listeners throughout. Here’s what WARLORD had to say about the new track off Audio Surveillance 002:

“I wanted to do something more minimal and barebones while still achieving a unique flow and bounce.” -WARLORD

And he absolutely succeeded. The single became exceptionally absorbing and grasped my attention to a tee from beginning to end.

Brazilian producer JG Dubz gives us an eccentric, yet old-school flavor of riddim with his track Lurker.” The single commences with lo-fi beats, ambient nature sounds, and vocals that almost feel nostalgic. I found it fascinating how JG Dubz was able to seamlessly combine minimal, laid-back beats with an evocative twist to riddim. JG Dubz shared that he was inspired to create this introspective song after viewing the iconic Martin Scorsese & Leonardo DiCaprio film, Shutter Island. He wanted to delve into the dark, atmospheric OG riddim vibes with vocals that matched that same cinematic ambiance. Shutter Island has always been one of my favorite movies, so it makes sense that “Lurker” has become a standout track in my playlist. If you’re craving a riddim single that is thought-provoking, yet also rhythmically satisfying, “Lurker” is one that will hit every mark.

IITYX has unveiled “heartsick,” which features heavy, distorted bass and cutting-edge riddim synths. The Belgian dubstep producer has been pushing boundaries of genres through creating gritty tracks with edgy, underground energy. The piece begins with an expansive, echoing sound and quickly builds up to a distorted, glitchy noise, which transcends into dense, forceful bass. IITYX is on a propelling rise, and when I saw the crowd going wild during his set this past month at Rampage Open Air in Belgium, I could tell his passion for bass music is paying off. The track “heartsick” gives an energy that shows no mercy, and I am excited to see what is next for IITYX.

With the Audio Surveillance 002 compilation receiving positive feedback across the board, the Beat Intelligence Network has proved they are masterful tastemakers in dubstep with each release they unveil. The label is truly amplifying the underground bass scene, and we are absolutely here for it. We can’t wait for the next Audio Surveillance release from the Beat Intelligence Network and Dubstep FBI team!
