Hekler is a name that’s tearing up the scene right now. He’s been booked for tons of festivals across the country this summer (Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Lost Lands Music Festival, Ever After Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, etc). The producer has blown up in two very short years, and gained national recognition with his breakout smash festival staple, “404“.
Today, the Never Say Die favorite is back with his brand new What The Hek EP. The new four-track EP features up and coming Bass producer Calcium and EDM rapper Sam King. King has appeared on collabs with Excision, Kayzo, Gammer, Dotcom, and many more.
A couple months ago, we covered Hekler’s collab with the YOOKiE bros, “Wraith“, which was also released through esteemed Dubstep imprint Never Say Die.
My personal favorite off the EP was “Doom” featuring Calcium. Calcium actually provided a massive remix to Hekler’s “404” and I was hyped when I saw his name on the What The Hek. “Doom” brings that lumbering firepower sound that Hekler is known for, and it’s awesome seeing him work with a smaller producer like Calcium.
