CHEE returns to Deadbeats once again to wrap up his streak of singles with his explosive new EP, Paralysis Analysis. Bringing two new tracks to the table, one being the highly anticipated collaborative effort with Mr. Carmack, this EP ties the bow on three singles released with Deadbeats over the past five months.
Last Friday, the South African/Philadelphia producer dropped his second EP with Zeds Dead’s highly esteemed record label, Deadbeats. Paralysis Analysis provides mind-blowing breakbeat glitch sound design combined with heavy-slapping 808’s. It’s the perfect follow-up to his 2020 Quarter Inch EP,
Specifically, “Fight Club” featuring Mr. Carmack fuses a mesmerizing reggae vocal sample with pulsating drums and synths, making it the perfect track to try and understand CHEE’s inspiration behind his production.
Here’s what CHEE had to say about the new project:
“I was elated to have my good friend African Ginger work on the art for Turn Up and later have the opportunity to work with him on the final EP art. I wanted the recurring theme to be a feeling of restraint & the need to escape, but partially being paralyzed by one’s own mind. The process of overanalyzing, causing one to freeze and be a prisoner of their own thoughts. I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling, especially after this last year, and I feel the art does the perfect job portraying that internal conflict a lot of us face daily.” – CHEE
It’s clear this superstar producer is in top form as always. We can’t wait to see what’s next from CHEE.
