Dutch duo Not Yes is back at it again with a breakbeat anthem “Keep Jumpin”. While they’re still working their way into the North American scene, their music speaks for itself. We find it very refreshing to hear some innovative bass music coming out of the more house and techno-focused Amsterdam electronic scene. Let’s take a listen!
“Keep Jumpin” has a lot of breakbeat influence, with a healthy dose of two-step and halftime flavor. It starts with some degraded drum grooves, vocal phrases, and synth elements. It gets groovy quick, with an infectious breakbeat chorus that I can’t get out of my head. The drum work here is top-notch. The two-step elements fit perfectly in the interludes and the whole arrangement is incredibly tasteful. This track is a party starter for SURE.
I did some exploring on Not Yes’ SoundCloud after hearing “Keep Jumpin” and I can’t recommend them enough. They’ve released on Deadbeats in the past and played direct support for huge names after all, but regardless, I have become a huge fan after diving into their stuff. Make sure you explore their sound if you’re not already familiar with Not Yes.
