MYTHM is a name that everyone has finally come to know in the bass world, which comes as no surprise with his growth and accomplishments over the last couple of years. With an arsenal of releases already under his belt and sets at festivals and venues like Shambhala, Bass Canyon, Red Rocks, and more, this tastemaker is ready to continue to take the scene by storm. He’s coined a signature sound unique to himself and elements within each track that are meant to be played loud and on a proper stack of speakers.

Now, he’s back with his latest project, a six-track EP titled Shadows, out via REZZ’s imprint, HypnoVizion. The EP highlights that MYTHM sound we all know and love, but also introduces us to a whole new side to his project. He really experimented with his production abilities on Shadows and took a step into a much heavier side, implementing those styles amongst the dark and skewed elements that make up his music. Here’s what he had to say about the new EP:

“For this 6-track EP I wanted to have a lot of different flavors within it. There’s my classic styles of dark and deep and then heavy and in your face. I think all the tunes tie together nicely and flow into each other for a proper front to back listen through.” – MYTHM

MYTHM has an impeccable ability to manipulate sounds in unique ways, in turn, curating tracks that feel as if they could split the earth right in half. Shadows brings this energy, but to a whole other level. We hear this in tracks like “Mad Acid” which highlights MYTHM’s style to step out of his comfort zone and create unique bone-rattling frequencies.

The EP also features two collabs, “Venom” with ColtCuts, and “Usual Suspects” with Swift, “Venom” has that signature, dangerous sound, alongside ColtCuts’ take on this genre of music. Together, they makes a deep dubstep number that’ll definitely set dancefloors aflame and shake the ground beneath. “Usual Suspects” follows suit, but weaves in vocals that only add to the track’s many exquisite layers.

It feels like Shadows is marking a new beginning for MYTHM. He’s truly carved a name for himself in his respective lane of bass music and has an exciting future still ahead. Stream the EP now below or on your preferred platform, and let us know your thoughts and favorite tracks in the comments!
