Canada-based producer MYTHM was one of the hottest names in bass music in 2022 as 140 and classic dubstep continues to take hold in North America. His devastating basslines and haunting soundscapes are perfect sound system material. His new single “Pressure” is a testament to his curated sound, utilizing wicked bass stabs and distorted FX.

After appearing on the We Are Deadbeats Vol. 5 compilation, MYTHM makes his solo Deadbeats debut with his upcoming EP Brutalist“Pressure” is a powerful lead single for the EP, showcasing punishing bass and a jazzy rhythm that are certain to shake sound systems to their cores. In addition, the distorted bassline is more dynamic than most of MYTHM’s discography, making the track an excellent change-of-pace record for his sets.

MYTHM broke out in a significant way last year, delivering pulverizing beats to crowds at Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge, Shambhala, Yonderville, and Lightning In A Bottle, amongst many others. There’s a massive revival of sound system-oriented dubstep akin to the dubstep of the 2000s in North America, and MYTHM is one of many talents leading the charge. He returns to Portland at the North Warehouse on May 5th with an all-star lineup including 140 maestros Hamdi and Distinct Motive. We’ll also be sure to look for his name on upcoming festival lineup announcements and keep you in the loop!
