Emerging bass producer, Lumasi, continues to rise in the ranks of DJs, taking the industry by storm with his first-ever EP release, Transformation. Lumasi is not afraid of changing his sound, keeping things fresh for fans, trying out different sub-genres, and we love seeing him branch out to produce something new and fun.
Lumasi is praised for quality production techniques and putting his own twist into remixes of popular tracks. Lumasi has a remix of “FOLLOW THE VIBE” on LSDream’s Remix Series, Vol. 1, and his mega-popular flip of “Low” by Flo Rida had a massive moment during the festival season last year. Lumasi also has an insane flip of “Man Of The Year” By Schoolboy Q with Tape B.
This two-track EP, Transformation, released on Wubaholics, is a new direction for the Denver-based producer, who is scratching the itch to try out different sounds other than melodic bass. Diving into genres more reminiscent of experimental bass, Lumasi is unveiling music that feels raw and authentic to him, and we can’t get enough of the Transformation EP!
The first track on the EP, the title track, begins slowly as vocal overlays and other-worldly sounds swirl into one before unleashing a grimy bass drop with a futuristic sound to it. “Transformation” reminds me of an actual transformation – something that starts off as soft and small, but becomes another beast entirely. This banger has a wub-filled, glitchy production design that will have you feeling like you’re being transported to another dimension.
“Ascension” is a song that perfectly encapsulates the feeling of rising above, as the title suggests. A track that begins light and airy drops into dirty bass with a repeating vocal loop that’s diabolical. This feels like music made for beings on another planet, but it’s smooth and easy to transcend into. This will have you on a journey through space and time, with melodic tonalities and heavy bass lines.
Lumasi absolutely crushed this EP and has no problem transitioning into a new sound. Lumasi is just getting started on his voyage with this project, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him! Get pumped to hear these tunes played out all summer at our favorite music festivals with all of your friends!
