The Australian producer Mr. Bill dove deep into the writing process in his album “Mechanomorphic,” spending about twelve hours per day creating demos for this body of work. The album features collaborations with other extremely talented artists in bass music like The Widdler, Infected Mushroom, Dirt Monkey, COPYCATT, VCTRE, and more. The album was inspired by what it’s like living as a creator in the digital age of AI and new technology, and how the way artists create is changing, with the word “mechanomorphic” meaning machinery and innovation.

The album’s collaboration with COPYCATT dubbed, “Bring It On,” blends COPYCATT’s signature halftime sound with Mr. Bill’s clean, high-energy production. The tune has innovative sound design, and is sure to be a hit with fans who get to experience the track on big sound systems. “Absence,” Mr. Bill’s collaboration with VCTRE, also effortlessly combines the two producers’ unique take on concocting transcendent electronic music. The track is experimental but still really catchy and expertly crafted. There’s a large variety of moods and energies throughout the album, and Mr. Bill’s distinct style ties the whole thing together. Here is what Mr. Bill himself said about the album:

“The definition of ‘Mechanomorphic’ is ‘having the form or qualities of a machine,’  and in a way, the album kind of has that, but that isn’t why I named it that. I’ve always been interested in the i/o system between humans and technology (especially in creative fields); humans build technology, the technology influences humans, and it continues in this loop. In my opinion, that idea has never been more pertinent than it is now with the introduction of AI into society, and so that idea inspired the name of this album.” – Mr. Bill
