In a revival of deep bass and freeform fusion, Canabliss comes out swinging in her first independent release of 2024 titled “Calamity”. Shrouded in an ominous veil of fluttering vocal chops and otherworldly melodies, Canabliss leans into her signature burly basslines to conjure a storm that acts as an emotional conduit in this newest release.

“Calamity” opens with harmonic vocalizations followed by an atmospheric crescendo that immediately delves listeners into a sub-shaking, hot-blooded thunderstorm of bass. Representing a recent rough patch in life, Canabliss translates her own pain into a cohesive heater that evokes pensive yet purposeful themes.

The track progresses into a second wind of sensation, guided by spiraling bass and wavering vocal chops. Canabliss demonstrates her skillful synchronicity of celestial melodies and deep bass, placing this one amongst the producer’s vast collection of projects that represent her core sound.

Here is what Canabliss had to say about her new single, “Calamity”:

“The word “calamity” can be translated to an event that causes great, and often sudden damage or distress. My new single, “Calamity”, came together as a way for me to process my emotions after a sudden rough period in my life which is apparent through its dark atmosphere. “Calamity” is about practicing the ability to embrace difficult emotions and uncomfortable changes we go through as humans.” – Canabliss

Fans can look forward to catching the talented Canabliss at many upcoming festivals, including Elements Festival, Bass Canyon, Lost Lands, Coconino Campout, and of course, Liquid Stranger‘s Wakaan Festival! She’s become a staple of both his Wakaan and SSKWAN labels and has put on dozens of diabolical performances in support of Liquid over the years.
