Wiley, a rising force in the experimental bass world, is kicking off 2025 with his heavy-hitting Rug Burn EP, released via Wubaholics. This three-track heater shows off Wiley’s unique ability to weave raw soundscapes with earth-shaking bass to bring fans on a cohesive journey through the hypnotic.
Wiley, hailing from Indianapolis, has quickly established himself as a shooting star in the experimental bass scene. With a signature sound defined by deep textures and atmospheric basslines, he has earned the support of dubstep heavyweights like Excision, Subtronics, and Liquid Stranger. Looking ahead to 2025, Wiley is set to make a seismic impact, joining Tape B on tour and performing at renowned venues like Chicago’s Ramova Theatre and the Hollywood Palladium. Wiley is gearing up for a milestone year with the Rug Burn EP finally unleashed to the world.
The EP opens with “Rug Burn (Knocked Out),” a relentless powerhouse of pounding sounds and crushing drops that sets an unapologetically intense and high-octane tone. “Reject” builds tension with eerie soundscapes and granular textures, keeping listeners on edge throughout. Closing out the project, “Black Opal” pairs Wiley’s signature heavy bass with Ujuu’s atmospheric touch, creating a deeply immersive and otherworldly experience.
Here is what Wiley had to share about his excitement behind the new EP release:
“I’m really thrilled with how this project turned out – it feels like an evolution of my sound. The process of crafting these tunes has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to dive even deeper into exploring heavier, more dynamic tracks. This is just the beginning!”– Wiley
