Bringing the energy of 90s Hip Hop into the modern bass scene, BRAINWAVEZ delivers a mid-tempo knockout with his latest track, “MVP”, out now on Cyclops Recordings. Known for his intricate sound design and in-depth YouTube track breakdowns, Costa Rica-based producer BRAINWAVEZ is no stranger to the ever expanding world of bass music.  BRAINWAVEZ has been releasing music for over five years and his tracks have been played by EDM mega stars like Excision, Zeds Dead, Alison Wonderland, and ATLiens at massive festivals including EDC and Lost Lands.  This is also far from the first label release for BRAINWAVEZ; in 2023 his track “Subsurface” was released by Excisions label Subsidia, and he has music out on Circus Records, Boogie T‘s Drama Club, and Ganja White Night‘s SubCarbon as well.

MVP” flips Big L‘s 90s rap classic into a high-energy festival smash.  You can feel the groove on this track right away when the intro starts, but it really falls together when the build-up tears in and BRAINWAVEZ’s signature synth work cuts through with precision, delivering a bouncy, brain-tingling drop that hits in all the right ways.

This song is simply monstrous. Keep an eye out for this one in any of the mid-tempo sets you attend soon, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear this one get played out by some huge names.

In addition to his releases, BRAINWAVEZ has made a name for himself creating educational content for aspiring bass music producers. On his Instagram and YouTube you can find both short and long-form videos that include content like track breakdowns, sound design tutorials, industry talks, and production tips. It is clear that BRAINWAVEZ is passionate about helping the next wave of producers start out, as he always includes freebies like sample packs, project files, and racks with his posts.

MVP” is one of many heavy hitters dropping on Cyclops Recs so far in 2025.  The record label led by dubstep legend Subtronics has been gearing up for a huge year, and it’s already going crazy. Just last Friday we had a monster of a release from TYNAN, and EPs from Brainrack and NIRE have already dropped since ringing in the new year.  Coming up next month you can catch the Cyclops Recordings team at their Miami Music Week party with Deadbeats at Mana Wynwood.  Make sure to follow their socials for more new music soon!
