Common Creation has returned with another mind-bending EP. His latest four-track release, “Glitch Garden”, offers a true sonic journey. These tracks showcase Common Creation’s dynamic production style and skills, with each song layered with various synths, rhythms, basslines, and genre-infused soundscapes.
Previously, Common Creation has released with multiple fan-favorite record labels, including WAKAAN, SSWKAN, Earth Hz, and more. Today, he’s returning to CloZee’s label, Odyzey Music, where he previously released his track “Beyond The Horizon” with Josh Teed.
Chris Teal, known as Common Creation, is a multifaceted artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. His electronic compositions blend multiple genres. Although not confined to a single category, Common Creation often explores psychedelic bass, funk, glitch hop, electronic jam, and experimental bass. His music orchestrates a vast range of energy, from fluid downtempo grooves to high-energy basslines. The track “Golden Gossamer” from his newest EP, “Glitch Garden,” exemplifies this range within a single piece.
To mark Earth Day 2025, Common Creation recently teamed up with artist WayBach to release the EP “Soul Shadows” on SoundCloud. “Glitch Garden” follows up that strong release just as powerful.
Common Creation has been active on stage this year, with more performances planned for 2025. In April, he performed at Ubbi Dubbi alongside Daily Bread, Boogie-T, Dirt Monkey, INZO, and Zen Selekta in Fort Worth, Texas. More recently, he debuted “Glitch Garden” at the venue Cervantes in Denver, Colorado.
For those who missed his Denver set, don’t fret; you’ll have another chance to catch Common Creation perform live. His upcoming events include Nowhere FTL on June 5th and Funk Festival in Alabama on June 7th. In early October 2025, he is scheduled to perform at GRiZ‘s return festival, Valley of Seven Stars Cosmic Camp Out, in Arrington, Virginia.
Common Creation’s production prowess shines throughout his new EP “Glitch Garden”. The layers within this four-track EP invite repeated listening to fully appreciate its depth. The opening track, “Teakwood Tales”, sets the tone with outdoor ambiance—fluttering bug sounds and underwater synths rising to the foreground. Panning satellite sounds sweep into a gripping glitchy bassline.
The second track, “Fluorescent Flora“, begins with ambient textures and birdsong, establishing a tranquil yet curious atmosphere. The first bassline enters with a stern percussive bounce, like a basketball meeting hardwood with force. An authoritarian snap and bounce are reinforced by the snare and kick. Common Creation weaves in crystalline synths as the track winds down, softening the energy and returning the track to its airy, euphoric essence.
“Dusky Dreamflower” opens with fluttering insect sounds and twinkling chimes that pan across the listener’s ears, extending the project’s ambient, naturalistic aesthetic. The ambient atmosphere is short-lived as a distorted laser bass enters. The track shape-shifts from glitchy, gritty low-end into a bouncing bass-house section, before mellowing into jazzy, psychedelic tones. The underlying jazzy groove glues the whole track together, adding a sense of mystery and fluidity.
The final track, “Golden Gossamer”, will be a must-add to your playlist if you are a fan of Tipper, evoking a similar vibe to Tipper’s 2022 album “Marble Hunting”. It starts with chirping frogs and rumbling thunder, mirroring the organic intro and outro used earlier in the EP. A downtempo low-end, accented with a kick and snare, gradually grows louder and is eventually brought to the forefront of the soundscape. This dreamy genesis later erupts into a filthy, distorted bassline that commands the audience to groove.
This EP stands tall as a masterclass in experimental bass. Common Creation’s fearless approach to production and genre fusion in “Glitch Garden” makes it clear he’s here to stay.
