Gabrielle Watson, better known to the dance music world as A Hundred Drums, has spent over a decade mastering her thunderous signature sound. A Hundred Drums is recognized worldwide for her infectious, high-energy performances, as well as her unique production style. If you arrive at one of her sets, you’d better expect to see her flowing locs bouncing alongside her explosive reverb. Festival goers who weren’t able to catch her soul-stirring performances at this year’s Secret Dreams or Starbase Festival need not fear- A Hundred Drums is bringing her pounding sounds to EDC Orlando, Cascadia Arts & Music Festival in Washington, as well as the debut of Goddess Awakening Festival.

The brand new Fearless EP transports listeners into three unique, unexplored sonic realms, revealing a side of A Hundred Drums we’ve never heard before. With each track of the Fearless EP, the LA-native producer weaves three different auditory tales, blending genre-bending soundscapes with her passion for crispy production.

“My first release on Cyclops was a remix of Flute Dub! Fun fact: that track actually made it onto Billboard’s Top 100, coming in at #100 for a couple of days! It was such a surreal moment to land on the Billboard charts, especially with a remix of a track by one of my biggest inspirations. Now, it feels like the perfect time to return to the label with my next EP. Big love to Cyclops and the entire Subtronics team for the continued support!” – A Hundred Drums

The first track of the Fearless EP, “Out of Time”,  lures us into the EP’s initial realm of sound with a spellbinding flute solo elevated by precise lyricsism, setting the stage for the building crescendo. As “Out of Time”  reaches the optimal boiling point, A Hundred Drums lets loose a series of varying sub-shaking reverb guaranteed to scratch your bass-hungry needs. The airy grace of the flute melody, accompanied by the flowing wordplay, together establish the piece’s strong foundation, which A Hundred Drums skillfully crafts her sonic experience around.

Following “Out of Time,’” the track “Fearless” bubbles to the surface next on the EP, as A Hundred Drums infuses it with rich reggae-inspired grooves. The track’s interlude leans on the soulful harmony to set the stage for her percussive rendition of dancehall style. The further we step into this second track of the EP, the more A Hundred Drums slowly injects her specialty brand of bass into the track’s soul. As “Fearless” builds to its crescendo, the gravitational pull toward the dancefloor becomes undeniable, driven by a deep, funky low-end drop.
