Bass Temple and 18 Hands are colliding for a new EP titled “Evolutions” out now on CloZee‘s Odyzey Records.

The brand new release from the two exciting artists, the “Evolutions” EP, is an intentional four-track project. It equally shows off each side of the two acts’ unique and impressive production prowess.

Bass Temple is a Denver-based rising star who weaves deep primordial bass into cosmic melodic loops, raising the vibrations within all of her sonic soundscapes. She has contributed to the HIHF guest mix series in the past as well; you can check that out here.

18 Hands unleashes his art form that derives from his decades of practice in Kung Fu, honing those skills within his music. We covered the two’s collab, “Catabasis,” back in 2023. They also came together in the past for “Ishtar,” also off of CloZee’s label and her Muzique Vol. 4 compilation album.

The meaning of the moniker traces back to the earliest forms of kung fu called “18 Hands of Luohan” or “Shaolin Fist” which were said to be statues that the monks used as inspiration for creating 18 simple postures, movements and sequences.

Here’s what Bass Temple and 18 Hands had to say about their new project “Evolutions” out through CloZee’s label:

Bass Temple @ Cervantes Other Side – By Maddy McCafferty

“Releasing an EP with Odyzey has been a goal of mine for the last few years. When 18 Hands and I worked on the first track, which we initially planned as a single, the process flowed so perfectly. Our styles just lock in and the energy feels so fluid when we work together. It quickly became apparent that there was more music coming and it felt like Odyzey would be the perfect home for a full vision. As we were nearing the completion of production, I got the chance to play “In the Embers” out at the LSZEE afters in Denver and the crowd reaction was unreal. It’s been such a cool journey to look back on, from playing Odyzey’s first Voyage festival to this release. I’m so grateful to 18 Hands for being part of this process and to Chloé and the Odyzey team for putting their support behind Evolutions”- Bass Temple

“The Evolutions EP is a sonic ritual — a fusion of ancestral energy and future bass frequencies. Working with Bass Temple has always been a natural, effortless flow, even with us creating between Colorado and Las Vegas. She brings an ethereal vocal palette and atmosphere that elevates the entire experience. Some tracks began with her ideas, while others — like ‘Horus’ from my archives — found their perfect evolution through her collaboration. Our intention is for listeners to feel empowered, awakened, and reconnected to their inner warrior through the rhythm.” – 18 Hands

This EP was an absolute spiritual journey from start to finish, taking the listener to unexplainable realms of self-reflection and bliss.
