Prepare to project into the astral dimension with Zingara, as she envelops listeners in an aural journey commandeered by her bass-heavy production chops on her debut album, The Code of Dreamz. This twelve-track LP is an auditory exemplification of Zingara’s dream diary brought to life through her otherworldly sonic storytelling, intricate soundscapes, and dynamic array of complimentary collaborators including Heyz, Austeria, Ujuu, Elephant Heart, and more. The Code of Dreamz LP is a testament to the bridge between bass music and spirituality that Zingara has fluently ingrained into her brand.

In an expression of genre-defying production, Zingara employs a saturated mixture of experimental bass, house, drum & bass, and trap throughout The Code of Dreamz. While this album is a visceral experience that should be explored from top to bottom, the thematics and composition of standout tracks and collaborations are undoubtedly worth highlighting as fans begin to digest the project in full.

The opening track, “I Am”, firmly sets the intentions for the The Code of Dreamz, utilizing cosmic melodies, ethereal vocal chops, and Zingara’s signature space bass to launch listeners into the dream realm. The intrinsic core of a Zingara track resonates on a foundation of wobbly, power-packed bass, which remains a constant force throughout this debut album, similarly demonstrated in “In The Face of Your Shadow”. These hypnotic, entrancing drops are the backbone to The Code of Dreamz, enthralling listeners into a dreamlike state marked by oscillating bass and disembodied vocals that navigate them through the astral dimension.

“The Power of Everything” with Heyz is the second track on the project and raises the stakes of the aforementioned composition style, with Heyz tearing up the mix with his trademarked heavy bass. Further exploration of deep bass in The Code of Dreamz is best demonstrated in tracks like “Unlock Your Keys” and “Time Is An Illusion” with Austeria, whom Zingara previously collaborated with on their blockbuster bass house banger, “WWYB3”, as well as their Sisters of Fate EP.

These tantalizing tunes rely on vibrational bass lines and sub-shaking harmonies to create a meditative, out-of-body sonic experience. On their newest collaboration, Austeria’s dark, gritty vibrations and Zingara’s celestial sound waves whimsically navigate a merger of soundscapes complete with flying frequencies, teetering tempos, and reverberated vocalizations.

There is an unequivocal emphasis placed on melodic, vocal-based moments within The Code of Dreamz, which stand out in the title track of the album, as well as the lead single, “The Stars Are Calling Me” with Jessica Chertock, and “Look Inside” with leah weaver. These enchanting pieces unlock the door of opportunity for creating visual imagery through lyricism, as Ruby Chase sings, “Follow down the tunnel, deep into your psyche, as we unlock the code of dreams.” Complete with high-flying, hypnotic harmonies, these introspective tunes provide The Code of Dreamz with a cathartic component delivered by angelic vocalists.

Further advancing into the album, Zingara gives a nod to her uptempo capabilities on the house track, “Up is Down” and on the drum & bass banger, “Close Your Eyes”. As the second lead single from the project, “Up is Down” acts as the ideal pre-album drop for its contagious flair that planted a subconscious seed in fans’ heads as they eagerly awaited the LP’s full release. Furthermore, “Close Your Eyes” strays from Zingara’s conventional style, implementing a diverse mixture of filthy frog bass and melodic bass synths to create an out-of-the-ordinary drum & bass bomb.

To round out the album, Zingara instills the help of the talented rising star producer, Ujuu, and indie-pop electronic act, Elephant Heart, on “Now You See” and “Welcome Home”, respectively. “Now You See” is loaded with Ujuu’s distinct bass from the jump and quickly evolves into a synth-strapped, lucid dream of a track. To close out The Code of Dreamz, “Welcome Home” offers the most unique, tribal-influenced tune on the project. Detailed with primitive-sounding nature bass and turbulent trap, Elephant Heart’s otherworldly sounds interweave harmoniously with Zingara’s bass lines to effectively reground listeners and welcome them home.

After coming off of The Code of Dreamz’s wildly successful headline tour, Zingara decimated Mission Ballroom in Denver with a massive album release headline show joined by Black Carl!, Lumasi, and HIHF guest mix contributor, Osyris. If you haven’t gotten the chance to catch Zingara’s masterful album come to life, be sure to catch her at Elements Festival or Bass Canyon this August!

Here is what Zingara had to say about her transformative debut album, The Code of Dreamz:

“The concept of this tour and album is to fully embody my childhood dreams (my manifestations/future goals and the ones that take place while I sleep). Lots of shadow work and childhood memories have been popping up as I have been working on this behind the scenes creatively. So much transformation. I am obsessed with decoding dreams and I finally get to bring to life everything I have learned, seen and experienced into my music, visuals and shows.” – Zingara
