Neonix is quite familiar with Never Say Die, which is why it’s no shock that today’s release, The Lee Jenningsest EP, finds itself on the revered dubstep label. NSD are not the only ones who have been impressed by THE Lee Jennings though, his signature glitchy sound can be found across Circus RecordsBassrushPhiso Sucks Records, and Cyclops Recordings among others.

Today’s release is another installment of the ongoing Lee Jennings EP series, following The Lee Tapes EP, The Lee Jenningser EP, and Lee Jennings EP. In Neonix fashion, the effort is stacked with four tunes baked with roaring bass and spliced with epic melodies.

Neonix opens The Lee Jenningsest EP with “Watch This” which lures you in with obscurity before firing off heroic synths and whiplashing you with bass. After some proper neck-breaking, “Pornograffiti” asks you to get back on your feet with a high-energy house beat which is soon met with funky wobbles. A groovy treat, the track is but a quick breather before we get back to the heavy stuff.

With “Hi 5” we are back to Neonix’s esteemed punching drum work and ultra gnarly basslines. The track is recognizably Neonix with wobbly bass, ear-tingling glitches, and pure mayhem. The closing heater, “Water Bass,” is a blend of twinkling synths and ferocious bass much like the contrast of fluid water and heavy bass.
