If you are a fan of funk-infused EDM and artists like GRiZ, Gramatik, or Big Gigantic, you are probably already familiar with Defunk and Father Funk. They are two exciting producers who have been gracing the bass scene with their wonderfully wonky productions and their talent in exploring different sub-genres. If you are not familiar, it’s time to get hip.

Father Funk fuses all sorts of stylings within his work, ranging from Disco to Hip-Hop to Trap. He’s appeared on huge bass labels in the past like Dirt Monkey‘s 19k Sounds and Liquid Stranger‘s Wakaan label. Following his collaboration with Drama Club Records labelhead Boogie T from his most recent EP, Father Funk is returning to the label today for his exhilarating new collision with Defunk.

Defunk is a Canadian powerhouse producer who has been touring for over ten years internationally, hitting huge venues and festivals like Electric Forest and Red Rocks. His unique combo of funk, hip-hop, electro, and bass music allows him to be a true maestro of genre-bending. He’s collabed with big names in the bass world like SoDown, The Funk Hunters, and AHEE, and has become a favorite of the magical Shambhala festival.

For the two artists’ new single, “Move Your Body,” they are coming through with that HEAT! This track is the perfect combination of their styles and is another testament to their production prowess.

Featuring smooth guitar riffs building into a gnarly dubstep drop, this one is a great addition to your heavy bass playlists. Here’s what Father Funk had to say about the massive new tune:

“It feels damn good to finally be sharing the first Father Funk & Defunk collab with the world. We’ve been working on this for years now – I feel like we’ve both grown so much as artists and producers even just in the time it’s taken us to finish this track! I hope the world enjoys it as much as we do.” – Father Funk
