Hailing from Chicago, the audio-visual guru and HIHF podcast alumni Deafadil has rapidly been rising the ranks as a force of reckoning. This week, Deafadil triumphantly returned to Wavecraft Collective with his new three-track God_Complex EP. His artistic potential vastly shines between the album artwork and the production prowess of this new EP.
The team at Wavecraft Collective prides itself in being a community of artists and industry professionals all working together to help each other further their careers. Wavecraft is excited to bring Deafadil back for another titanic work of art with the collective’s most monumental release of the year.
The EP kicks off with the title track, “God_Complex.” It begins with a soft melody then the build-up throws you for a loop as it plunges listeners into a drum and bass journey. Kicks and snares soon make way for synths and breakbeats as it pivots into experimental maniacal production.
“Digital Native” dives into a more deep dubstep approach. Think G Jones meets Deep Dark & Dangerous. Deafadil incorporates a fusion of distorted and glitchy synths with a pronounced bassline. It’s a well-balanced composition transitioning into the closing track, “Who We Are.”
“Who We Are” is a bit more in your face. This bass-heavy banger delivers a utopian syncopation of mind-altering wubs with the orchestration of various synths. The God_Complex EP is quite possibly Deafadil’s most exciting release to date. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“I feel like this EP is a reflection of me as an artist more than any of my prior work, and I hope it comes off that way. I tried to tell a story and let the listener into my world a little bit.” – Deafadil
