Floret Loret returns with his newest and most robust release, Tales from the Terrarium, through our friends at Gravitas Recordings. This talented artist has been taking the scene by storm, releasing music on massive labels such as MorFlo, Deadbeats, Bassrush, and more, as well as clocking multiple shows and festivals like Okeechobee, EDCO, Infrasound…the list goes on and on.
Here, he provides fans with his debut full-bodied LP, complete with a plethora of sounds and influences, truly supplying a little something for everyone. Here’s what Floret Loret had to say about the new project in his own words:
“This album revolves around the theme of rebirth and self-discovery in the face of challenges. The inspiration for this concept came from a meaningful conversation I had with my dad during a health incident I experienced in 2020. He shared with me the idea of hitting the reset button after going treatment, and that conversation ignited the idea of embracing a brand new beginning in life.
I wrote this album centered around the journey of a character I created named “Napo”. Each individual song takes on the role of a chapter, as he explores a new world and confronts the obstacles that lie within his adventure. I wrote this album in order to create a new world, encompassing the story that I wanted to tell.”– Floret Loret

The album starts off with “Bewilderment,” filling ears with organic soundscapes that flow steadily with a cinematic tone. It then drops down into more gritty glitchiness, emblematic of throwing your computer into the most beautiful river you’ve ever laid eyes on. “Firespoken” continues the flow of the river, with calm and serene vibes echoing an inkling of drum and bass influence.
The next track, “Druids Magic,” invites a refreshing energy into the mix, ushering listeners on a magical journey soaring through sound. “Warmblue” strikes the balance between hot and cold providing a refreshing deep breath, while still pushing forward with momentum. It bleeds into “Bloodstone”, as the track moves and grooves through the airwaves.
“Prowler” takes a heavier turn, going into “Walking with Ents,” which takes the grooves plus some more wobbly, glitchy accents. The same can be said moving into “Treestomp” and “Mandragoras”. The collection is rounded out by the final tracks “Frozen Flares”, which slows things down a bit into “Napo’s Rest”, a track that ties everything together beautifully and leaves listeners with a sense of peace after what has surely been an epic journey.
This is an absolute masterpiece of an album and we cannot wait to see which massive stages these tunes get to rip on next. What track was your favorite off of Tales From The Terrarium from Floret Loret? Let us know in the comments below and on socials!
