Heard It Here First

Medicine Place is a rising star we’ve had our eye on for a minute now. The up-and-coming producer has released on labels that are pillars of the underground like The Gradient Perspective, Wubaholics, GRVDNCR, and Headbang Society. He also just appeared on Enigma Dubz’ “#HEATERS Remixed” album with a filthy new edit of the colossal tune “Lost It.”

Medicine Place has also provided show support to some of the hottest names in the deep dubstep world, ranging from Ternion Sound and The Widdler to Chef Boyarbeatz and Pushloop.

Today, we are teaming up with Medicine Place for an exclusive premiere of the first track from his Wubaholics-assisted Hieroglyph EP, set to release in full tomorrow. The EP is a showcase of what the production maestro is capable of within the dark, dubious worlds that he creates for listeners.

On “Like Dat,” Medicine Place recruits fellow rising star, Mousai, who has been on a tear of his own the past couple of years. Mousai is supporting Liquid Stranger on select dates of his 2024 tour and appeared on his SSKWAN downtempo-focused label multiple times. He’s also released music on CloZee’s Odyzey Records in the past.

This isn’t Medicine Place and Mousai’s first time joining forces. The two talented producers linked up prior on Mousai’s 2022 track “Chain Gang.” Today, their artistic talents are colliding for another impressive bass-fueled soundscape, titled “Like Dat.”

Featuring a hypnotizing vocal lead and a boisterous, bass-heavy buildup, this collab explodes with a perfect fusion of both artists’ low-frequency beat-making expertise. We can’t wait to hear this one being rinsed out on a proper speaker system come festival season 2024.

“It’s always fun to come together and put together something that expresses how you’re feeling that day and this joint is a great example of that. It all started with a normal conversation in discord, playing with basslines and once we popped the lid we were having so much fun, Like Dat pretty much made itself.  This track is a showcase of that bread and butter midwest sound that our community loves and is proud of and we’re very excited to share it with everyone!” – Medicine Place
