Last weekend, the Black Box in Denver hosted some deep dubstep icons, Abstrakt Sonance and Wraz, with support from the sound-bending DJ, Soggy Noize. The night was jam-packed with deep soundscapes and we had the great pleasure of covering this unforgettable sold-out event.

Starting out the show, Soggy Noize brought all of the vibes with his wonky, dark frequencies and effervescent basslines. He rinsed underground bangers and hot tracks that had us getting down on the dancefloor, setting the tone for the rest of the night. If you missed this insane set, you can still catch a snippet of it on his Soundcloud. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for future releases from this head-turning Denver creator. This was one of the biggest shows of his career, here’s what he had to say about it:

“I’ve been dj-ing for close to 10 years at this point and this set was almost like a validation for myself. I wanted to prove to myself that I could make an hour and a half of music flow and stay entertaining without looking like I’m trying outplay anyone. I pride myself on multi-genre music blending and i really hope it came through and people enjoyed it. Big shout out to everyone that came early and of course all my homies who showed up at doors to support”- Soggy Noize

The crowd started to fill in as Wraz jumped on the decks, warming us up for the madness that followed. We all screamed as he shouted out over the mic, “Are you guys ready for that real Canadian dubstep?” The Funktion-One speakers were booming as he dropped our favorite bass IDs and unreleased future anthems. There wasn’t a soul in the room that stood still as he rinsed his new Wriggle VIP” and his legendary remix of Ready For War” by Dominus featuring Magugu. Seeing how dedicated Wraz truly is to his craft and live experiences with his fans was super rewarding. Here’s what he had to say about the show:

“The energy was phenomenal! I had brought a lot of new unreleased music of mine and the people were here for it ⚔️ really amazing to see the Denver community coming together to celebrate the sound of the underground with us! Very grateful for my CO family x”- Wraz

The energy in the air was sky-high as headliner, Abstrakt Sonance, took the stage and played a ridiculous set of gritty, upbeat rhythms and powerful sound design. The venue transformed into a dungeon as he brought attendees into new realms with his unique and raw sound. The crowd couldn’t handle all the bass as Abstrakt Sonance brought up Wraz to end the night for a breathtaking back-to-back from the two deep dubstep pioneers. The pair dropped some wild heaters and tracks from their new EP Out Of The Woods. We are still in shock after witnessing the crazy talent and infectious vibes that these Canadian tastemakers delivered to Denver’s Black Box last Saturday.

Abstrakt Sonance and Wraz are set to continue their Out Of The Woods Tour in select states throughout the US this year! Will you be lucky enough to attend one of these shows? Let us know in the comments below or on our socials!
