Heard It Here First

NGHTMRE and Liquid Stranger link up for the first time on a monstrous production effort titled “Restless” through the Gud Vibrations label. These two heavy hitters have positioned themselves at the top of the dubstep world, pioneering their own labels and festivals and slaying headline sets at festivals across the world over the years. Their newest collaboration is an intoxicating feel-good banger that blends their two iconic styles.

“Restless” is everything that us bass fiends crave. The intro features encapsulating vocals from MOUGLETA, and continues entrancing us throughout guiding the journey. The first drop is a classic melodic bass explosion that will surely get bodies moving. Following that comes the second drop, which is powered by gritty kicks, laser gunshots, and growling bass, making this one an atomic and atmospheric adventure.

With“Restless” sure to become an instant classic in both NGHTMRE and Liquid Stranger’s already infamous arsenal of festival anthems, is it fair to speculate these two have more collabs cooking up? NGHTMRE recently posted a tease on his Instagram account, alluding to the fact that this just might be the case. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for any more announcements from these two EDM legends.

Here’s what each artist had to say about working with the other:

“I first found Liquid Stranger’s music back in 2009, when I was graduating high school. I had just picked up music production and was incredibly inspired by all his bass-heavy dubstep tunes. I’ve wanted to collaborate with him for many years and after sharing a festival transport together, we finally got to meet and talk music! I shared a few vocals I had received that I really loved and he resonated with ‘Restless’ the most. We worked remotely sending ideas back and forth until it was perfectly dialed! Not only was he great to work with, but he is an incredibly nice and genuine person. I’m so happy with how this one ended up sounding. We are already talking about starting another collab!” – NGHTMRE

“I’ve been a huge fan of NGHTMRE’s work for years, and after connecting while on the road, we set out to make something special. We wanted to combine elements of both of our sounds with a strong vocal to create an anthem; a tall order. We found the perfect vocal via Mougleta, with lyrics that spoke to us since it reminded us of our busy, rootless, and restless lifestyle. We took our time and really tried to give it the attention it deserved, making it truly special. I’m extremely happy with how it came out and have been testing it at all my shows. Working with Tyler [NGHTMRE] has been a great experience, he’s an amazing person and it’s been really fun to work on this one together. Liquid Stranger is already having a massive 2024 with several more stops to go on his Expansion Tour and the return of Wakaan Music Festival in September. Next for NGHTMRE, after upcoming tour stops across Florida, he is set to hit the stage with an epic solo set at the legendary EDC Las Vegas festival this coming May.
