Rapidly rising star bass producer, Crawdad Sniper, has just unveiled his new remix EP on the two-year anniversary of one of our favorite projects. The five-track Squid Pro Quo: et alia celebrates the highly acclaimed original release and features exciting artists like Hokey Boi and Tygris. Hailing from the D.C. area, crawdad sniper is a boundary-pushing DJ known for his immersive shows that tastefully pair musical and visual stylistics. These mystifying sets have gained Crawdad a devout following, and the opportunity to play with esteemed production moguls like Jade Cicada, Mr. Carmack, and countless others. His ability to operate above traditional production conventions makes crawdad sniper a truly exceptional artist and one we will continue to be locked in on.

Hokey Boi wastes no time getting this EP soaring through the speakers. The first track, a remix of “Casiotone“, incorporates Hokey Boi’s crunchy bass hits with Crawdad’s beloved “dub-groove” sounds. Following a rather ethereal intro, this tune quickly turns into a fiery head-knocking track utilizing minimalistic percussion and a roaring synth. If the original track didn’t hit hard enough, buckle in for this hypnotic reinterpretation.

Tygris follows up Hokey Boi’s core-shattering tune with a heated remix of the title track “Squid Pro Quo“. Allowing Crawdad’s melodic visions to still speak for themselves, Tygris weaves complex drum patterns through soundscapes of spellbinding bass. Stick around for the second drop because this one keeps getting darker and darker. His remix showcases Tygris’ brilliant creative vision and what is to come with this next era of bass music.

The EP finishes off with a sterling bonus track titled “Cloud Candy“. This track floats crispy guitar and piano samples through uplifting soundscapes.
