Tazu is one up-and-coming artist HIHF has been following closely since the dawn of his career, linking up with him in the past for both guest mixes and premieres. He just unleashed his masterful five-track EP titled “Heart”, featuring a diverse assortment of creative soundscapes. With a will to craft something unique to his own sound, Tazu has unearthed a true treat for us all!
The west-coast native has been dishing out sonically entrancing tunes for a few years now, and shredding on stage in support of some of our other favorite artists such as LYNY, ISOxo, and YDG. Drawing heavily on his Japanese-American background, Tazu has forged his sound to represent the music he not only loves to make, but also the music he loves listen to. Balancing both the boisterous stylings of OG dubstep with the beauty of melodic, emotional build-ups, Tazu is showing fans he is an artist who definitely deserves your attention.
The first track “HAPPIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD” is a poised introduction to an ensuing rollercoaster of musical ingenuity. It is an auditory palate cleanser featuring a dialogical vocal sample, fluttering flute synths, and a warm chordal melody. Be ready to transcend to higher realms with this entrancing intro track!
Don’t settle in too much now, because “BASS IS BUMPIN” tears through the speakers with rage. Although building slowly with a menacing melody and trappy drums, this track breaks into a proper head-knocking tune for the late-night crowd. Tazu flawlessly melds trap, UKG, and deep dubstep, sure to give you a chronic case of bass face. The second drop goes even crazier, chopping up rhythms and melodic concepts, all the while flaunting behemoth sub-bass.
We have been patiently holding onto “DO IT”, awaiting the release of this EP since the single dropped. It is an inspiring tune, serving the message to be grateful for all we get to experience in this life. Opening with a motivational monologue and glistening melodies, this track turns quickly into a head-banger special. Tazu exhibits his ability to draw the listener in with low-key, soothing melodies, but then burst speakers with that OG dubstep sound that continues to capture dance floors in 2025.
“DA BOMB” and “FROM THE LIGHT” close out the EP in monstrous fashion, proving again that Tazu cannot be ignored in this quickly moving EDM space.
