Medicine Place and Salty have just unveiled their tasty two-track EP titled “The Operators” through Boogie T‘s Drama Club Recordings. The two rising artists have been making ripples in the underground scene with their uniquely crafted sounds. This EP is a brilliant blend of traditional two-step beats, infused with the new school underground sound. With this sterling EP, Medicine Place and Salty are two artists you won’t want to miss this summer!
Medicine Place is an emerging talent in the underground bass scene, infamous for his immersive and enlightening auditory experiences. He blends old school 140 dubstep with experimental bass, crafting a unique and dynamic sound. He has gained praise from dubstep heavyweights like Mersiv and Super Future. Coming right off a heater of a set at Infrasound this past weekend, his impending summer performances at Solar Tide, Sound Haven, and Elements are getting all the more hype and cannot come soon enough!
Salty is bringing his modern stylings to old school dubstep, with filthy remixes and pristine originals. He incorporates electronic trap, experimental bass, and wonky, gutteral dubstep elements into his tunes, taking you on a journey in between and across genre lines. We fell in love with his “Drugs in the Club“ remix and have been hanging on to every track since it’s release in 2019. Seeing these two artists team up was the silent request of the underground scene. We asked, and the two rapidly rising stars delivered!
The title track, “The Operators”, opens with a fluttering synth and droning phone ring, leading into a chime-fueled, invigorating drop. The synth rests on a whirring low-end bass, shaping the melody over a conventional two-step beat. This is that mid-set track that gets the whole crowd deep down low and back into the action.
“Dialed In” is a tasteful follow-up to the title track featuring a bit more experimental production. A phone cacophony rings hysterically while the bass builds and swings into the crescendo. We are met with raw, unadulterated bass in that first drop. The swinging bassline weaves through a head-knocking backbeat, locking the dance floor into a hypnotic trance. This track truly showcases both artists’ vision and the direction of underground taste.
We are so stoked to see some of our favorite rising star artists make big strides in the underground community. Medicine Place and Salty are two names to look out for in your next discography deep dive, so stay locked into their upcoming releases. As we keep spinning the EP back in anticipation of their next set, let us know where you’ll be catching them live down below or on our socials! Be sure to show them social support as well!
