If you’ve spent any time online in the bass music world lately, chances are you’ve come across something from Denver-based producer HEYZ. Over the past few years, he’s built a devoted following thanks to a steady stream of high-quality releases and some of the most entertaining social media content in the scene. HEYZ has been putting out music since 2017, with a pivotal moment being last year when he dropped a stunning flip of Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes.” That track turned heads immediately, but he didn’t stop there — just two months later, he followed it up with a viral rework of Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” which even got a nod from Teddy himself on Instagram. Since then, HEYZ has leaned into the momentum, putting out tons of exciting originals and mixes at a relentless pace, all while staying connected with his audience through his hilarious, self-aware videos.
2025 has already been a huge year for HEYZ. He took the stage at DeadRocks XI, opening for Zeds Dead at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater — and if that wasn’t enough, he also hosted the fan-favorite hot dog eating contest at the Deadbeats Jamboree that same weekend. The mix of music, chaos, and comedy was peak HEYZ: energetic, unpredictable, and unmistakably fun. Now, as he preps for his thirty plus date headline tour this fall, HEYZ has dropped his latest project: the HEYZ’d and Confused EP. It’s not just a clever title — the four-track record is a showcase of everything that makes him one of the most exciting rising names in dubstep today. From production chops to genre-blending instincts and pure creative flair, HEYZ is pushing boundaries in all the right ways.
The EP kicks off with the title track, a spacey and suspenseful opener that blends echoing vocals with a hard-hitting drop that scratches the back of your brain in just the right way. It’s followed by “Onomono,” a collab with hip-hop artist Dubby, which blends rap vocals with a bounce-heavy drop that has already become a fan favorite since its release as a single last month. That energy ramps up even more on “Demons,” where things take a darker turn with gritty vocals and an off-kilter rhythm, making this one perfect for the rail riders and mosh pit dwellers. Finally, the EP closes on a euphoric note with “Fantasy,” a melodic banger that rises from airy vocals into a soaring, feel-it-in-your-chest kind of drop. We dare you to listen to this without making a bass face.
HEYZ is clearly in his stride. But beyond just releasing bangers, he’s also making waves behind the scenes. His recent creative work with GRiZ and ProbCause — including writing and directing promo content for the upcoming GRiZMAS 10 event — shows that his talents go far beyond just music production. He’s becoming a multifaceted force in the bass music world.
With the right mix of humor and hustle, and a signature sound that balances heavy with heartfelt, HEYZ is building something special. If you’re not already following along with his journey, now’s the time to get on board.
