The goal of our guest mix series, and our site as a whole, really, is to uplift artists that we think deserve the spotlight. For our next edition, we’ve got an artist who we’ve had on our radar for a minute now! Poni is next up for volume 140 of the HIHF guest mix series.

Poni is an artist whose creativity knows no bounds, and her work consistently blurs genre lines. The Vancouver-born, Denver-based producers’ discography ranges from heavy dubstep to drum and bass to energetic trap and future bass. She’s opened for headliners like REZZ and Adventure Club and has released bangers on major labels like Monstercat, Gud Vibrations, Kannibalen, Space Yacht, and numerous other esteemed electronic music imprints. She even won RL Grime‘s inaugural Sable Valley remix competition, leading to a full release on the label.

On top of those high-profile appearances and accolades, Poni has provided official remixes for some of the hottest acts in the modern bass music world; Kayzo, REAPER, HVDES, Tokyo Machine, and even the legendary Krewella sisters.

For volume 140, Poni is taking it up to another level with firepower from all over the genre spectrum. This mix is lots of fun. It’s got tons of throwback anthems, both pop-punk and radio hits. Plus, it’s got heaps of drum and bass, midtempo, halftime, trap, and even complextro, creating an industrial feel that seamlessly weaves emotional vocalizations, driving guitar riffs, and heavy basslines all throughout.

We are super impressed with this guest mix from Poni, and it’s clear she has a massive future ahead.
