SIPPY is gearing up to drop her debut album later this year, and she’s just given us a fiery preview of it with the first single, Ashes (feat. Marlhy),” released via Deadbeats. With this upcoming project, SIPPY tears down the walls, revealing a more vulnerable side of her artistry, something that shines through Marlhy’s raw vocals woven throughout the track.

SIPPY, known to her fans as the Gremlin Queen,  is no newcomer to the dubstep scene. Her journey began in her early twenties, DJing at bars and clubs across Australia. Hungry for something bigger, she set her sights on the U.S. bass scene. A pivotal moment came when Bear Grillz introduced her to the energy of the American crowd, and she was instantly sold. Now based in Los Angeles, SIPPY continues expanding her reach, letting her signature gremlin energy ripple across the States with each release and neck-breaking performance she throws down.

Since relocating, she’s carved out a solid stance in the bass music world. Her discography includes releases with powerhouse labels like Deadbeats, Bassrush, UKF, and Monstercat. She is supporting GRiZ in Chicago later this year alongside Boogie T and will be performing at GRiZ’s Seven Stars comeback festival for a b2b with friends and collaborators Smoakland. From opening for huge names like Zeds Dead, Excision, and Dirt Monkey to launching her own headline shows, SIPPY’s on a banger-fueled rocketship that shows no signs of slowing down as it propels into the sky. On her upcoming tour, she is performing all over the U.S., with a standout headline show at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver on October 3rd, 2025.

Her June 2025 track, What’s a Gremlin,” revealed one side of her personality: gritty, gnarly, and bass-drenched. In contrast, Ashes (feat. Marlhy),” strikes a more emotional tone. These two releases together showcase her impressive range, from chest-rattling drops to raw, heartfelt melodies. Despite the contrast, her signature blend of throbbing bass and perfectly integrated vocals continues to shine throughout her work.

“Ashes (feat. Marlhy) demonstrates SIPPY diving headfirst into intensely expressive depths. She blends haunting vocals with glitched-out textures and a skittering drum pattern. Tension builds with soft sirens and distorted “dun dun dun” low-end synths, leading into a heart-shattering first drop. This energy surge is layered with glassy cowbells echoing around the heartfelt soundscape.

Marlhy’s lyrics ooze with heavy sentiment, especially as she declares, “burn it all to ashes,” right before the bassline hits. These lines feel torn straight from a diary, transforming the track into something more than just a banger. It’s an emotionally charged hit that highlights SIPPY’s evolution, not just as a producer, but as a storyteller and expressionist. With a title like “Ashes,” and the chorus hook repeating “burn it down,”  it makes one wonder: Could her old style, distorted fat dubstep, be burning away as a new version of SIPPY rises? Is she setting the stage to emerge from the ashes, reborn like a phoenix?

Here’s what SIPPY had to say about her new project, Scars in Stereo”:

“With this album, I am opening up my vulnerability to you guys: the ones who have supported me every step of the way. This is for US.” – SIPPY
