Mersiv is assembling the troops for the newest compilation album from his label, MorFlo Records. Featuring a cavalcade of rising star producers, Throw Down Vol. 1 is another unique look into how much MorFlo has to offer the dubstep world.

MorFlo Records has released multiple different compilation albums in the past, featuring HIHF guest mix contributors like VEIL, Notixx, Meduso, Laika Beats, Raaket, Allen Mock, Yoko, Green Matter, and tons of other brilliant production minds. Mersiv is one of our favorite dubstep artists here at HIHF and we love that he’s been able to support and platform the next generation of DJ phenoms with his MorFlo label.

MorFlo’s compilation, which dropped just this morning, features brand-new efforts from the likes of Aweminus, Floret Loret, FloZone, and tons more. We wanted to break down a couple of our favorite tracks and artists so you can get a taste of what the compilation album has in store!

Throw Down Vol. 1 is the follow-up to its sister compilation album, Slow Down Vol. 1, which was released last March. That side of the compilation series will focus on more soothing, world-building beats, as opposed to the heavy bass onslaught we see here on Throw Down. Check out our coverage of that here.

The comp starts off with label head Mersiv’s contribution, teaming up with up-and-coming artist Seth David. The two provide an absolute collision course of a tune with “Jump,” certain to be a staple of Mersiv’s floor-filling live sets this coming festival season.

Following that is “Down” from rising star FloZone. FloZone is well known for crafting burley, headbanging-inducing basslines within his tracks, and that’s exactly what we get here. He is a favorite of the Wubaholics label and we hosted him for an exclusive HIHF guest mix last year! You can check that out here.

Next up is “Suneater,” by the crispy beat-maker Floret Loret. It’s great seeing Floret Loret venture back into the heavier side of his production prowess. This track is going to be great for fans of that deep, low-end, crunchy bass music we love so much here at HIHF.

Then we’ve got “Bmt” from Ujuu and Wiley. Each of these artists has been on our radar over the past few years and the tune they’ve cooked up for Throw Down Vol. 1 is sure to give you an irreparable case of bass-face.

“Departure” features two more rising star producers, Jalaya and bd hbt, who we hosted for a guest mix a couple years back pre-pandemic. The two West Coast heavys bring out all the stops on “Departure.” It’s going to do some seriously critical damage this festival season, that much is a fact. We can’t wait to hear this collab dropped on a proper speaker system!

Next up is “Go Home in a Coffin” from dubstep maestro Aweminus. Aweminus is well-known for his riddim-style dubstep soundscapes. This track is a change-up from that atonal, more Lost Lands-centric sound, crafting an insanely wonky and experimental bassline on “Go Home in a Coffin” that will have you shaken to your core.

Efforts from Shanghai Doom & DAIZY, Kyral x Banko & Elevatd, So Sus & ADAME, Jaenga, HEYZ, XaeboR, and Komuz also had us going off and going wild. This whole album has something for every type of dubstep listener and that’s what we have come to expect from these ultra-impressive compilation albums MorFlo Records continues to crank out.
