Hot off the heels of the release of his recent EP, Glitch Garden, on CloZee’s Odyzey Records, Common Creation is back with yet another magnum from his deep arsenal, this time with the fresh collab, “Kneecap,” with friend and student, Wattzn.

Chris Teel, AKA Common Creation, has rapidly climbed the ranks with releases on iconic labels like WAKAAN, Odyzey, MorFlo, and SSKWAN, as well as performing live with Griz at Griz’s Space Camp curated event. Teel’s releases know no bounds; he has been known to drop covers of many prominent names outside the dubstep space, including iconic acts like Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Sublime, and Mac Miller. Interweaving eloquent bass melodies with ballads from some of the most celebrated and notable artists is a remarkable testament to his craft.

“Kneecap” turns up the heat, to put it mildly. Beginning with the twang of a string instrument into a Danny Devito Frank Reynolds Always Sunny In Philadelphia quote, it immediately drops you into full-blown insanity. Booming basses and deck scratching come together in an epic symbiotic form, resulting in an aggressive banger curated to turn up any dance floor. Ripples of synths and percussion weave through the distortion, keeping listeners on their toes as it’s impossible to not go absolutely feral upon listening.

Here’s what Common Creation has to say about the idea behind “Kneecap”:

“Kneecap” is one of those tracks where we sat down with the intent to make a banger and managed to hit that flow state and hammer out the entire tune in one go. Wattzn is my good friend, turned music production student who, after a couple of short years of learning, was coming back to me with some HEAT. We got together one night last summer to make a slammer, and Kneecap was the result. The tune itself is a relentless, make-sure-your-health-insurance-is-up-to-date type beat, and has been an absolute weapon in my sets over the last year. This is also Wattzn’s first official release, and I’m really proud of how far my dude has come.” – Common Creation
