August is days away. We only have about two weeks till the best event Pimlico Racecourse holds every summer, and I certainly am not talking about Preakness.
Moonrise Festival is quickly approaching, so I made a couple playlists (one months ago & the other last night inspired by my girlfriend’s best friend who is attending the festival for the first time). I love making playlists, and what better platform than here to share that with as many people as possible. My friends and I (shoutout Griz lol) have been to Moonrise the past couple years and have been blessed to see amazing acts just an hour north in Baltimore including Bassnectar, RL Grime, Porter Robinson and many, many more. Here is this year’s lineup, we’ll be sure to post the set times right when they come out.
This year, I’m most looking forward to Illenium, Ookay, NGHTMRE, Zed’s Dead, and of course, Rezz, some who I haven’t ever seen before. But as previously stated, I threw together a more mainstream/lyrical playlist for those who wanna delve into my love of more lyrical, poppy, future bass-y, Chainsmokers-y, tracks. “Moonrise Basics” playlist below on Spotify–and here for the Apple Music fans like me.
My other must-see acts of the festival are definitely the heavier acts like Ganja White Knight, Joyryde, Habstrakt, Dion Timmer b2b Sullivan King, and Gammer. I definitely won’t be missing Illenium nor Griz, who both throw down the womps in their sets. Will sadly not be seeing any rap at the festival just because of the crew I am going with (as much as I love them), and we won’t be able to see A Boogie or NAV unless I walk by and it obsessively catches my eye and I just stay put.
The next playlist is much crazier, appropriately titled “Moonrise Madness”. Probably around a hundred-song playlist of the songs I’m most looking forward to seeing at the festival. Made this guy a few months back, but now that I’m blogging again, I wanted to share it. Definitely do not touch this supah hot fiyah if you aren’t a fan of the wubs and womps because they are certainly prevalent. Spotify link below and here for the Apple music-cool guys, like myself.
We’ll see you at Moonrise Festival at Pimlico Race Course August 11th and 12th. Can’t wait for the “Moonrise Madness” to ensue, say what’s good if you see me there! Below are a couple snapshots I’ve taken from past years at the festival, some with a media pass from FistintheAir. Make sure to throw our insta and fb pages a follow at @hearditherefirstmusic. Much love friends and followers.
