Ace Aura is undeniably the hottest name in the world of “color bass,” also known as future or melodic riddim. He has worked with huge names in the past like TYNAN, Crankdat, and Chime, and has shined on festival stages like Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, and on direct support duties for huge tours from Champagne Drip and Riot Ten. He also performed a b2b set with Level Up at Subtronics’ Red Rocks show, Cyclops Rocks, at the iconic Colorado venue.

For his newest work, out now off Flux Pavillion and Doctor P’s Circus Records, Ace Aura is assembling the avengers of future riddim with his Crystal Coalition EP. The new project includes collaborations between Ace Aura and rising star producers like Skybreak, Phocust, SpaceYeti, beastboi, and MIKESH!FT.

Crystal Coalition EP showcases tons of different styles of production across these five artists and it’s another reminder of how vast of a future Ace Aura and the quickly growing color bass sub-genre has to come.

The standout track for us was “Speedrun,” the collaboration with Skybreak. Gorgeous plucks and an infectious melody quickly turned into a descent into 8-bit madness. It was an immediate “get me out of my seat and start dancing”-vibe type beat. Skybreak has tons of melodic masterpieces under his belt, working with major labels like Disciple in the past. He even contributed to the HIHF guest mix series back in 2021. You can check that out here.

Ace Aura is championing the next generation of melodic dubstep phenoms. Here is what he had to say about the new collaborative project:

“I’m so grateful to have been able to work with so many artists I’m inspired by! Working on this EP was both a fun opportunity to make music with friends and a chance to showcase some amazing artists who are really innovating within the scene.” – Ace Aura
