South Florida just keeps heating up as the home of raps greatest talent. Pompano Beach native Kodak Black, known for songs like “No Flockin'” and “Tunnel Vision” as well as his legal troubles takes a different route on his recent release “Calling My Spirit”.

The song takes a look at where he came from, and where he is now. “It’s like you gotta sell your soul for them to pay attention” he raps over a hi-hat punctuated beat. It’s no dissertation about poverty, but it’s a strong departure from his usually celebratory view on violence. Check it out below!
