This year, Australian DJ and producer Flume (Harley Edward Streten) broke a nearly two-year hiatus with a March mixtape titled Hi This Is Flume. A week later he followed up with “Friends” featuring hip-hop artist Reo Cragun (notable for his recent feature on Ekali‘s “Runaway”), and more recently, “Let You Know” featuring London Grammar. Today, Flume dropped his Quits EP with Cragun, and it was sure worth the wait.

Flume played a monumental role in popularizing and paving the way for the future bass genre. In 2012, he dropped his self-titled debut album, followed by his Skin LP in 2017. Flume has proven himself capable of pushing boundaries in electronic music through the present day. His mixtape Hi This Is Flume was influenced by styles like R&B, hip-hop and lo-fi, and he was able to combine those with his signature future bass sound to make a creative, ethereal masterpiece.
