Fresh off the release of recent singles “Chaos Control” “Ku Ring Gai,” Daktyl doubles down on his creative momentum in dropping another dual-track release: “To The Bone” “A Thin Blue Line.”

“To The Bone” reflects a similar tonal identity as the previous release, featuring Jen Kuross, with its wistful vocals and buoyant instrumentals comparable to the sounds of more downbeat Glass Animals tunes. Following that, accompanied by a seamless transition similar to that of the previous release, is a complex and ever-changing space odyssey confined to a run time of three and a half minutes. “A Thin Blue Line” quite literally blasts off into a springy-synth laden dance track anchored by sixteenth note snares before returning to earth for a satisfying conclusion.

This release is variable in sound but consistent in its exciting and fun brevity which all but masks the perhaps somber tones in Daktyl’s self-identification of meaning in his metaphorically intergalactic B-sides.

“So many millions of things had to go right in order for us to be here.. so many tiny details all aligning so that we can live our day to day lives. One of those details is the earth’s atmosphere, the thin blue line, the only thing that separates us from infinite nothingness.” – Daktyl
