Through his rule-breaking production style and ever-growing, 40,000 strong fan army, Subtronics has become one of the biggest stars of the Dubstep world in 2020. Today, the Philadelphia native is dropping his seven-track String Theory EP, featuring some highly anticipated cuts from the Cyclops Army general.
Following collaborations with the likes of GRiZ, Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, Kayzo, Akeos and more, Subtronics is back again!
String Theory includes “Clockwork”, a staple tune of Subtronics’ multiple, high-profile live sets throughout 2020. It’s my personal favorite ID of his and I am ECSTATIC it’s seeing the light of day. It also includes the highly anticipated title track, “String Theory” , aka “This is a Wormhole”, as well as collaborations with both Wooli and Kompany, all of of which were heavily teased in Subtronics’ 2020 performances. If you missed his epic virtual Bonnaroo set from a few weeks back, you can watch that here.
Another cool accomplishment under his belt, I think Subtronics has been the headliner I’ve seen most booked at these all these Drive-In shows across the country.
Check out what Subtronics had to say about the new String Theory project below and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Be sure to let us know what you thought and which was your favorite track down below in the comments.
I’m so thrilled to finally share my ‘String Theory’ EP with everyone. It is a direct reflection of the wide range of emotions I have been experiencing through the pandemic. I wanted to encapsulate them in my music which resulted in a unique vibe that is my most honest form. Through this process I stayed true to myself and the sounds that made me happiest, a huge priority of mine always. — Subtronics
