Patrick Megeath aka Dirt Monkey has had a hell of a career in the electronic world and it feels like its continuing to expand and expand at an insane rate. After going on his tour of the same name throughout 2019, his Primatology album is finally here! The new project comes to us through Dirt Monkey’s own label 19k Sounds, which has recently seen EP releases from fellow Bass producers Mr. Bill and SubDocta.
Primatology is the perfect insight into the infinite jungle of Dirt Monkey’s mind. It explores tons of different subgenres, ranging from House to Drum and Bass and everywhere in between. The album boasts features from producers DMVU, G-Space, Tsimba, and Revazz. It also features previously released singles “Baile Bounce“, “Particle Collider“, and “Shut Up” featuring legendary rapid-fire battle rapper Tech N9ne.
The album also includes staple tracks from Dirt Monkey’s live sets, including “Hot Potato“, “High Grade“, his remake of Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl“, “Bananas“, and of course “Shut Up“.
We can’t wait for what’s next for both Dirt Monkey and his 19k Sounds label. Which track did you enjoy most off the new project?
