This past Friday, Denver-based electronic producer Joshua Thompson, aka Laika Beats, released his latest single ‘Deep End.’  While a new Laika Beats tune within itself is exciting enough, this track is just the beginning of a much larger project preparing to unfold for the up-and-coming artist.

An upbeat but chill tone encompasses the atmosphere of this new single. Also influences from hip-hop and lo-fi carry weight throughout the new track. Between melodic synths, slapping percussion, and hard-hitting 808’s, the track really has everything you need!

‘Deep End’ is the first single off Laika Beats’ debut album, “Endless Pursuit”. A ten-track album expected to release sometime this summer, this single is one of three projected to release before the full album hits listeners’ ears across the scene.

A project considered by Laika Beats as a celebration and reflection of his childhood dream to become a professional musician, we can only imagine what else is to come with this full-length album. Laika Beats has been hard at work the past four years carving out his own space in the bass music landscape. However, it feels as if we are going to get the most organic and original Laika Beats tunes to date!

Here is what he had to say about his latest endeavors:

“As an artist and skateboarder, one of my biggest inspirations are individuals who aren’t afraid to flex being different. They always get me so hyped. I love people who express themselves in loud and colorful ways.” – Laika Beats

It is apparent that Laika Beats is stepping up his game and the suspense is killing us! As long-time supporters of Laika Beats over here at Heard It Here First, we have no doubt that this project is shaping up to be something special!
