VCTRE has ignited the flame with his sophomore album, ‘East Kings Point,’ released on the Deadbeats label this past Friday. The Birmingham, Alabama-raised artist, Aaron Pugh, has been on the rise with fans obsessing over his unique sounds and emotionally layered tracks for the past few years spanning COVID and even prior. VCTRE has collaborated with notable bass producers in the past such as sumthin sumthin, Frij, and Minnesota, and he’s only just starting to rack up an impressive discography of singles, EPs, and LPs.

This new album is released on Deadbeats, Zeds Dead’s label that curates bass, dubstep, and drum and bass projects for listeners to easily find their newest obsession. Deadbeats is committed to showcasing a wide variety of the musicians that they promote and they proudly embrace cultural trends throughout the industry.

VCTRE’s ‘East Kings Point’ is an album that elicits an array of emotions. Prepare yourself to visit feelings of happiness, melancholy, moments of reflection, and much more. This album takes you on an auditory journey, unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. It’s glitchy, otherworldly, synth-fuelled, and bass-heavy. It has depth to its storytelling.

Let’s dive in and talk about some of the tracks off of East Kings Point. “Forest Catcher” was one of the two singles released off the album. The track showcases glitched-out bass and a catchy, bouncy tempo. It’s dark and mysterious, but fun and playful at the same time. This is sure to get you and your squad breaking out your best dance moves at the next function.

“Vacant Memories” has emotional cues interwoven into the overall production. A song that feels like it’s floating in space, this downtempo track has a deeper meaning to VCTRE, specifically honoring loved ones who have passed on. Check out what VCTRE had to say about this song:

An absolutely certified banger, “Ring Master”  ties in those dark and deep elemental sounds with distinct, spastic goodness that VCTRE is a master at perfectly crafting. This track has more of a guttural bass that is exciting and kicks things up a notch on ‘East Kings Point.’

VCTRE smashed it on his second album – no doubt about that. As an artist who is truly dedicated to his craft and laser-focused on the continuous growth of his sound and production, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this rising star.
