This past weekend, Sacred Sessions captivated the St. Petersburg community with an immersive evening of art, dance, and music lead by Super Future, Megan Hamilton, Future Joy, and more electronic creatives. This sober gathering magnifies focus on introspection, healing, gratitude, intentionalism, and more through the employment of workshops, ceremonies, and the universal nature of music.
After completing their sixth installment of Sacred Sessions (now going on seven), the Tampa Bay community has begun to dial in on the unique yet transformative offerings of this one-of-a-kind event held at Synergy Hot Glass.
Sacred Sesssions 6.0 commenced at 3:33pm with an honorary cacao ceremony designed for attendees to set their intentions underneath the brilliant Florida sunshine. A spread of yoga mats and tapestries enveloped the event space, with a yoga session ensuing shortly after. Surrounded by artisanal craft vendors, attendees had the opportunity to admire live painters, support local food and craft vendors, indulge in the esteemed Frick Frack Blackjack, or even receive a healing massage. Amongst these vendors included Sacred Smokes, a holistic herbal smoke alternative, Medicine Wombyn Cacao, a homemade chocolate vendor, and Lightstone Creative, a homegrown crystal shop.

By sunset, the Sacred Session had advanced into a tribal house DJ set provided by Shamanic Synthesis followed by an ambient set from Nidra. Attendees were led through a forgiveness prayer and a gratitude workshop before nightfall brought upon the bass music.
The Sacred Session progressed into an evening of vibrations, opened by HWoofer, Future Joy, and Megan Hamilton. Fueled by funk, bass, and the energy of the crowd, all three opening acts supplied an outpour of danceable soundscapes for the highly skilled fire spinners and aerial artists to move to.

The frequency of the crowd was buzzing just in time for Super Future’s highly-anticipated ninety-minute downtempo headline set. Undeniably in his element, Super Future orchestrated an intricate downtempo spectacle, detailed by soul-stirring deep bass within both his originals and fervorous flips, including his recent “Search & Rescue” flip. With the crowd in a state of pure hypnosis, he utilized sensual vibrations to seamlessly transition from contemplative meditative states into tantalizing grooves. Sacred Sessions 6.0 collectively experienced one of Super Future’s most impassioned sets, proving that downtempo is, in fact, designed for the main stage when the energy is harnessed properly.
Here is what Super Future had to say about performing at his first Sacred Session:
“I’ve been looking for spaces where I could give people a little bit of insight as to what the other side of me is and the want to bring a healing aspect just as much to the forefront as a bass set. I feel like there needs to be an equal and opposite feeling, so I’ve been working on a lot of [downtempo] and I want to show people that it’s more than just sunrise sets. I want it get to this point in the clubs, so this is me getting it out there a little bit more in a prime time slot, where you can feel a different energy at night.” – Super Future
We then spoke with Cassidy, one of the founders of Sacred Sessions (aka Sacred Snow) about the mission of this event. Here is what she said on behalf of herself and her partner, Katie Lawrence:
HIHF: What is your mission and what sets you apart in running Sacred Sessions?
SS: Our intention behind this space is to gather people and remember what it’s truly about. We can still enjoy music and make it about the music, and we can still enjoy art and make it about the art. It doesn’t have to be somewhere that we come to escape, but somewhere we come to be more present and sit with ourselves instead of running away from whatever it is we’re going through. We need each other as a community, so I think that’s really what it’s about, just bringing people together and remembering the intention behind why we’re together.
HIHF: What do you look for when sourcing artists and vendors for this kind of event?
SS: We do applications for every single event in order to keep the selection fresh. Our whole idea with the platform we’re growing is to be able to feature, promote, and support other small businesses that are growing by providing them this space, and they provide us a dope vendor market in return. We get to use our space to help other businesses grow, which is why we even started in the first place.
When it comes to choosing them, it’s all about variety and offering something unique to the community that sets everyone apart from each other. We have a lot of different offerings and vendors, so we try to do no two of the same.

It has become clear that the Sacred Sessions have become a consecrated event for Tampa Bay locals. Sacred Sessions encourages returners and newcomers to bring friends and family to their next gathering, set for Saturday, March 23. You can get your tickets to Sacred Sessions 7.0 here!
