Two of the biggest names in the history of dubstep are colliding on a monstrous new single, Excision and Flux Pavilion have finally brought fans their collaborative track “On Forever” featuring Saint Raymond.
Flux Pavilion is known as one of the godfathers of modern dubstep, bringing fans iconic tracks like “Bass Cannon,” “I Can’t Stop,” and his viral “Gold Dust” remix over the past twenty years. His label, Circus Records, has championed some of the most exciting names in the bass world, including fellow label head Doctor P, as well as names like Funtcase, Cookie Monsta, NGHTMRE, and Conrank.
In today’s day and age, Excision is arguably the biggest name in mainstream dubstep. He has become synonymous with his Lost Lands and Bass Canyon festivals, which both host the hottest rising names in the scene each year. Lost Lands has even garnered nicknames for itself ranging from Dubstep Disneyland and the Super Bowl of Dubstep. He’s also platformed hundreds of up-and-coming producers with his Subsidia label, which he founded in 2020.
Today, the two bass music mega-stars are teaming up for their highly anticipated collaborative track. “On Forever” has shades of both artists’ stylings present and is a must-listen with the upcoming festival season upon us.
Colorful bass lines fuel the backbone of “On Forever,” topped by an impressive vocal performance from Saint Raymond. Many forget that Excision is just as capable of creating lush, ethereal soundscapes as he is bone-shattering boisterous heavy dubstep. His production prowess is the perfect fit to go alongside Flux Pavilion, who has shown off his more melodic side many times in the past, especially on his most recent full-length album “.wav” from 2021. Mix in some killer drum work and infectious synths, and you’ve got an emotional bass anthem from these two heavyweight EDM artists. Here’s what Flux had to say about the new collab:
“After nearly 15 years of friendship it feels like it’s probably about time we write some music together, when I first heard the vocal from Saint Raymond I knew it was destined for an anthemic banger and it was an honour to build that with Excision. It’s hard to say why it’s taken us this long to work together, Jeff was one of the first people to sign my music before it all blew up so there is real history there. I guess these things happen when they feel right, and this feels perfect”. – Flux Pavilion
