Heard It Here First

Over the past few years, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed featuring the extremely talented Smoakland and SIPPY on HIHF. These two artists have consistently captured everyone’s attention with their high-energy tracks that will get the crowd jumping on every occasion. Their work has produced some of our all-time favorites and today we have the pleasure of covering their new release on Deadbeats: “SMOAK & SIP” featuring Probcause.

It comes as no surprise that these two acts would eventually collaborate on an absolute banger. Both artists’ musical styles blend naturally with distorted bass lines and hard-hitting drums. Both Smoakland and Sippy tend to focus on the liveliness of their tracks, which is exactly what we get here on “SMOAK & SIP”. The track begins with vocals from the legendary GRiZ collaborator Probcause. This atmosphere becomes expanded with the addition of a creeping synth, foreshadowing the madness that is to come.

Building tension with a background of distorted bass, the track begins to evolve more and more till we’re faced with the gnarly pre-drop vocal “If you wanna know what we’re all about, f**k around and find out.” As we’re thrown into the drop, it’s hard not to bop up and down with the infectious rhythm of those hypnotic synths. This tune is definitely one to get the crowd bouncing and we can’t wait to hear it dropped come festival season.
