MYTHM Deals Critical Hits With His Debut Album “Mind of Madness”

MYTHM ’s debut album “Mind of Madness”, released April 26th, 2024 on Deadbeats, is taking the bass world by storm with twelve heavy-hitting tracks which diversely represent both the roots and future of this Canadian wave-maker.

Based out of Vancouver, MYTHM ’s artistic expression is nothing short of mind-bending; exacerbated by an immensely diverse sonic palette featuring uniquely crafted analog and modular sound design, which ruptures the creative canvas most paint. Today, MYTHM crafts a new picture which draws listeners into an expansive journey through sound. This magnetic persona has graced the stages of festivals like Shambhala, Red Rocks, Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Infrasound & more, while garnering the attention of those who have paved the path for modern Dubstep; artists like Mala, Coki, J:Kenzo, Caspa, Truth, and Zeds Dead.

The Deadbeats label, founded by Zeds Dead, has been a leader in breaking the musical mold since 2009. Their revolving Deadbeats tour has sold out venues across the globe, bolstering their commitment to the underground through a variety of roster features, which have included the likes of SHADES, Dion Timmer, VCTRE, and IMANU – an expansive platform to terrify today with tomorrow’s musical exploration.

“Mind of Madness” is no stranger to the strange, breaking the bounds of cinematic bass, and indicating a further journey into the exploratory odyssey that is the MYTHM project.

Here’s what MYTHM had to say on the LP:

“Collaborating with producers has been a big part of my career, but for my debut album “Mind of Madness” I wanted to take a different path with only two MC features: Slowie and Rakjay. The album is a journey through all things MYTHM: dark, intense, deep, bold, but also a new side of my sound that I’m really excited to show my fans.” – MYTHM

Darkness and creativity collide, crashing like waves and flames in an apocalyptic soundscape, conducted by our renowned author of chaos. Dealing “Damage” as the first track of the album, is nothing short of a tone-setting point of immersion, which draws in victims one after another, compelled to slip into the Madness of this dark tale that the following pieces narrate.

The ride is beginning, please fasten your seatbelts – welcome to the descent.

Following “Damage”, “Grim” reverberates listener minds through oscillating cinematic sound design, diving deeper into experimental, left-field fatality. “Mercy,” namely pays homage to MYTHM’s classic style, featuring gnarly morphing basses layered with dark vocal ad-libs, and a trappy 140 percussion.

Characterized by bass stabs and invigorating vocals (courtesy of MC Slowie & Rakjay), the album delves deeper into entropic chaos, and is commanded into order by haunting atmospheres and call-and-response elements. Concluding through the cinematic expression of “Voices In The Ether”, the beauty in the darkness told by MYTHM’s “Mind of Madness” is prophetic of the parallelism, duality, and contrast of music exploration entirely, “As Above, So Below” can be indicated as a theme in this immersively transcendent storytelling. Hear it live on the Mind of Madness tour, coming soon to the cities listed below.
